Apolo Anton Ohno
Apolo and LandRoller
Before Apolo Anton Ohno became the foremost name in Short Track Speed Skating, the young American had achieved several World Championships in Inline skating. After Apolo became the reigning power in Short Track Speed Skating, inline skating continued to play an important role in Apolo’s “off the ice” training regime.
When the 5 time Olympic medalist received his first pair of LandRoller skates, Apolo’s immediate reaction was, “There is no way in the world these are ever going to work. LandRoller wheels are too big, they’re angled, they’re not even in the center of the skate.”
Then Apolo Ohno tried the LandRollers on. Right away Apolo noticed that LandRollers were more stable than inlines and when he began to skate, the smooth ride, ease of use and superior maneuverability immediately convinced the young champion that LandRollers were superior to inline skates. Apolo Ohno became an instant convert to LandRoller’s patented Angled Wheel Technology. Soon, Apolo Ohno’s friends at the Colorado Springs training facility were also skating on LandRollers and loving them.
Today, as Apolo Ohno travels the world promoting the exciting Olympic sport of Short Track Speed Skating, he keeps a pair of LandRollers with his gear. When no ice is available, Apolo Ohno has no worries. With his trusty LandRollers, there is always a place for land training and fun. Apolo Ohno has become LandRoller skate’s strongest advocate.

2007 "Dancing With The Stars"
America’s fastest speed skater is also one of America’s favorite dancers. On Tuesday night, May 22, 2007, Apolo Anton Ohno’s 25th birthday, the young Olympic skating gold medalist and his beautiful dancing partner, Julianne Hough, won the coveted “Dancing With The Stars” trophy to become the fourth couple ever to win this prize.
Ohno appeared to be a technical master of the dance during “Dancing With The Stars” fourth season, bringing the same level of competitiveness to the dance studio as he brings to the ice.
"I feel amazing," the joyful Ohno said. "You put your mind to something, you give 100 percent, sacrifice and dedication, anything is possible."
"Apolo's competitiveness is almost on the verge of insanity," said his speed skating coach, John Schaeffer.
The young dancers flew back to New York City overnight with the other finalists for a special guest appearance on Good Morning America.
”Dancing With The Stars” is based on the British BBC TV series Strictly Come Dancing and is part of the international "Dancing With the Stars" franchise. The current co-hosts for Dancing With The Stars are Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris.
The 2007 edition of "Dancing With The Stars" was one of the most-watched ABC programs of all time.
