Men's Terra 9 2006 by Ben , Massachusetts Date Added: Thursday 09 February, 2006
First of all, these LandRollers are awesome. The feel is much more dynamic and clean compared to rollerblades. I take my dog on 6 miles rolls a day and knowing the wheels won't lock if I hit a rock makes me feel good, especially when my dog Otis and me are really flying. They also glide much better than inline skates. And lastly, the boot itself is solid and beefy, which makes for more confidense in going fast. Good job.....

I am very impressed with both the site, and the concept. As with the previous review, I have yet to try the skate, but I am looking forward to doing so. The only reason I have yet to purchase a pair is the fact that I wear a size 13 shoe, and have been unable to find a retail location that carries Landroller to find out if a size 12 skate will acommodate my foot. Are there currently any stores in the southern Michigan area that stock Landrollers? And, do you plan to produce skates for larger sizes at any time in the near future?

Hi LandRoller Team! I waited patiently for 7 weeks before my Terra 9's arrived in August. I haven't put my blades back on until this week. I'm in Hilton Head on vacation with a group of instructors who are clamoring to wear my LRs. I can't get them back. I can finally skate comfortably and safely in NH, where, if you find a flat spot you will find it covered with sand, gravel, mud, twigs, leaves or - very soon - snow. Waiting for the snow tires and studs you guys are surely creating for us! Everywhere I go - this is my 5th state so far - people stop me and ask me to explain.... Send your "first adopters" something small and informational to hand out. I could have sold dozens of pair by now! Keep rolling out the cool stuff. Colleen

I have to admit, I was somewhat intimidated by the design at first. After three days of Land rolling, I am extremely satisfied with this concept. The only problem is people keep stopping me to ask what they are and where can they get a pair. Eddie

Hi! Just wanted to say thanks for designing a great pair of skates. Very comfortable ride - 10+ miles and no aching feet! Stability and ease of use are great - you can roll over a garden hose without performing the infamous face plant/yardsale. Sharp turns take some getting used-to, but after you feel comfortable sliding a bit, cornering is not an issue - this is as expected with larger wheels. Moist surfaces and leaves are difficult to get through because of the lack of traction with more narrow wheels, but you just have to use caution and common sense. Overall - Great skate and great ride. I would highly recommend them over traditional inline skates! Cheers! Jeff

I Love LandRollers! They are balanced, comfortable, and Eye catching. Increased maneuverability is a major plus. My greatest concern is with the wheels. Are there plans for longer tread life? What does Terra 9 stand for? You have outdone yourselves. I look forward to LandRoller’s future! ----- We are very happy that you love your LandRollers! We have found that our wheels have a longer life than inlines given similar skating conditions. The reason is twofold – (1) LandRollers’ wheels are much larger so there is more urethane to wear, and (2) the wheels turn at a lower RPM compared to small inline wheels so there is less wearing going on per mile skated. The Terra part of the name Terra 9 comes from the Latin word for land or earth, because we feel LandRollers open up skating possibilities to much more of the earth’s land surface. The 9 part of the name denotes the number of years it took to develop and get our skate to market. Thanks for your support, LandRoller
